Booking & Cancellation Policy
Guided hikes, private days, travel planning and the self-guided itinerary
These policies apply to bookings with Switzerland Unscripted (Urban Hikes and Alps by Giada Rocca, Thalwil). Please read the one that applies to your booking before you book.
Guided Hikes Policy
We're thrilled to share the hidden corners and stories of Switzerland with you. Please read this policy before booking.
1. Booking & Payment
All guided hikes are private tours, tailored to your group. Full payment is required at booking to reserve your date. We accept CHF and EUR. Prices include the guided tour and all listed inclusions. Gratuities are appreciated, never expected.
2. Cancellations & Refunds
7+ days before the tour: 100% refund. Less than 7 days: non-refundable. Documented medical emergencies considered individually. No-shows or late arrivals are treated as cancellations. If I must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or may reschedule at no extra cost.
3. Weather Policy
Tours run rain or shine. Dress in comfortable layers, wear good-tread shoes, and bring a waterproof jacket if rain is expected. In cases of extreme or unsafe weather, we'll reschedule or, if not possible, issue a refund.
4. Safety & Liability
A Liability Waiver must be signed before the hike begins. You're responsible for judging your own physical condition and ability to complete the route. Your guide may adjust the route or pace for safety. To the extent permitted by law, Switzerland Unscripted assumes no responsibility for injuries, loss, or accidents from non-compliance with safety instructions, weather conditions, or personal negligence.
5. Participant Guidelines
Arrive on time at the agreed meeting point. Bring a refillable water bottle, dress in layers, and wear shoes suitable for cobblestones, stairs, and trail conditions. Children welcome on most hikes with an adult: confirm suitability at booking. Pets considered case-by-case: mention at booking.
6. Changes & Rescheduling
Minor itinerary adjustments may occur due to local events, construction, or weather. We'll inform you in advance and offer equivalent alternatives where possible.

Travel Consultation Policy
Thank you for booking a trip planning session. Please read this policy before booking.
1. Booking & Payment
Consultations (Half-Day and Full-Day sessions) are private, one-on-one sessions. Full payment is required at booking to reserve your date and time. We accept CHF and EUR.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Once you purchase a Travel Planning session it is not refundable. 48 hours or more before your session: free reschedule. Less than 48 hours before: we'll do our best to offer a one-time reschedule if notice is given. No-shows are treated as cancellations and are non-refundable. If we must cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or may reschedule at no extra cost.
3. What's Included
Each session includes the consultation itself as described on its service page, along with any written materials, recommendations, or itinerary documents specified for that tier. Pricing reflects preparation time, the session itself, and follow-up materials where applicable.
4. Accuracy of Recommendations
All recommendations are based on firsthand, current local knowledge at the time of your session. Availability, prices, opening hours, and conditions (trails, huts, transport) may change after your session and are outside our control: we recommend confirming key details (especially hut bookings) closer to your travel dates.
5. Client Responsibility
Final decisions about routes, bookings, and travel arrangements remain your responsibility. Switzerland Unscripted provides planning guidance and recommendations but does not book accommodations, transport, or activities on your behalf unless separately agreed.
6. Rescheduling Sessions
If you need to reschedule a Half-Day or Full-Day session that's split across multiple parts, please give as much notice as possible so we can find a suitable new time for the remaining session.

Self-Guided Itinerary Policy
We're thrilled to share the hidden corners and stories of Switzerland with you. To make sure your experience is smooth, safe, and enjoyable, please take a moment to read this policy before purchasing.
1. Purchase & Delivery
All self-guided itineraries are digital downloads, delivered instantly upon purchase. Full payment is required at checkout. We accept Swiss Francs (CHF) and other major currencies via credit card. Your purchase includes the downloadable itinerary and all listed inclusions (maps, route descriptions, and recommendations as described on each product page).
2. Refunds
Because this is a digital product delivered immediately upon purchase, all sales are final and non-refundable once the itinerary has been downloaded. If you experience a technical issue accessing your download, contact us within 48 hours of purchase and we'll resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion.
3. Weather & Timing
Self-guided itineraries can be walked at any time, in any weather, entirely at your own pace and discretion: there's no fixed date or reservation required. Please check local weather conditions before setting out and dress appropriately: comfortable layers, good-tread shoes, and a waterproof jacket if rain is expected.
4. Safety & Liability
By purchasing and using this self-guided itinerary, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own safety, route decisions, and physical condition throughout the walk. You are responsible for judging your own ability to complete the route, including any stairs, cobblestones, elevation, or distance described on the product page. To the extent permitted by law, Switzerland Unscripted assumes no responsibility for injuries, loss, or accidents arising from use of this itinerary, personal negligence, weather conditions, or route conditions encountered along the way.
5. Participant Guidelines
This itinerary is self-directed: participants set their own pace and are responsible for navigation using the provided map and instructions. Suitable for accompanying children at a parent's discretion, based on the route's distance and difficulty as described.
6. Accuracy & Updates
While every itinerary is built on firsthand, up-to-date local knowledge at the time of writing, small details may change over time. If you notice something has changed, we'd love to hear from you so we can update future versions.
